HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 488, No Resolution Number488 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) NEW 1965 FOUR -DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1l. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the city of Paducah, Kentucky, of four (4) new 1965 four -door sedan automobiles for use in the police department of the City, having the following specifications: 15 inch wheels Power steering Police packape to be described in detail and to include - Heavy duty generator 55 ampere minimum Seat belts Minimum of 300 H.P.engine Two automobiles to be black color with white top and white front doors, and two automobiles to be in conventional colors other than black or black and white. Automatic transmission Heater and defroster Standard equipment to be described .fully Spot light furnished by the City to be installed on each car by successful bidder. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the automobiles he offers for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in four (4) police cars now in use, heing card Nos. 2, 6, 8 and 9, and shall state the approximate length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than 7 nor more than 21 days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Clerk up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board Of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract. L89 SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
