HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 486, No Resolution Number486 t� A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) NEW 1965 PANEL TRUCKS FOR USE AS PADDY WAGONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale tothe City of two (2) new 1965 panel trucks for use as Paddy Wagons in the Police Department of the City, having the following specifications: Two (2) half -ton panel trucks 6 cylinder engine Heater and defroster Power steering Air cleaner Oil Filter Directional signals 15 inch wheels Standard first line G -ply tires with spare wheel and tire Automatic transmission Double pully on generator Installation of oe:rn spot light on each truck to be furnished by City. Colors to be specified by the City. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the panel trucks offered for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in Paddy Wagons Nos. 11. and 15 now in use by the City, less any sirens, extra batteries, extra generators and extra police lights; shall state the popular name and model of said truck and shall state the approximate length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than 7 nor more than 21 days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Clerk up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board Of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject anh and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract. 487 SECTION 3, This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. 2. mayor Passed by the Board of Commissioners March 5, 1965 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, March 5, 1965
