HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 444, No Resolution Number444 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1965 PANEL TRUCK FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of one (1) i new 1965 panel truck for use in the police department, having the following specifications: One (1) half -ton panel truck, 6 cylinder engine, power steering, air cleaner, oil filter, directional signals, 15 -inch wheels, standard first line l•-plv tires with spare wheel and tire, automatic transmission, double pully on menerator, installation of one (1) spot light to be furnished by the City, and colors to be specified by the City. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the panel truck offered for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1961 G.M.0 Panel truck (Paddy Wagon Car No. 15) less any airens, extra batteries, extra generators and extra police lights; ahsll state the popular name and midel of said truck; shall state the length of time required for delivery after the contract is awarded, and if requested shall exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar truck of the model bid upon with the equipment offered. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids shall he sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board ofCommissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not . become legally obligated to purchase said truck until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
