HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 44, No Ordinance Number44 // AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-" WITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON AUGUST 5, 1952, AND A14ENDED ON JANUARY 22, 1963 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on August 5, 1952 and amended on January 22, 1963, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said Section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 1. The number and rank of members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Number of Positions Monthly Salary Chief of Police 1 $500.00 First Assistant Chief of Police 1 420.00 Second Assistant Chief of Police 1 420.00 Chief Detective 1 420.00 Major 1 420.00 Police Captain 4 3$0.00 Detective Lieutenant 1 350.00 Police Lieutenant 4 350.00 Sergeant 7 335.00 Sergeant Detective 2 335.00 Policemen 40 320.00 Provided, however, that any policeman hereafter appointed, during his first year of service shall receive a salary of $295.00 per month and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to $305.00 for the second year of service, and upon completion of a second year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to the sum of $320.00." SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
