AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AN ALLEY EXTENDING FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF
SOWELL STREET TO THE NORTH LINE OF PALTER STREET, SITUATED BETWEEN
MAGGIE STREET AND LIZZIE STREET, AND CLOSING A PORTION OF PALMER
STREET EXTENDING EASTWARDLY FROM LIZZIE STREET IN THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby
authorize the closing of the alley extending from the south line of
Sowell Street to the north line of Palmer Street, situated between
Maggie Street and Lizzie Street and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the south line of Sowell Street
142 feet west of Maggie Street; thence southerly and
parallel with Maggie Street 475 feet, more or less, to
the north line of Palmer Street; thence westerly with the
north line of Palmer Street 16 feet; thence northerly and
parallel with Maggie Street 475 feet, more or less, to
the south line of Sowell Street; thence easterly with
the south line of Sowell Street 16 feet to the point of
beginning.
Also that the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby authorize
the closing of that portion of Palmer Street extending eastivrardly
from the east line of Lizzie Street to a point 15$ feet west of the
west line of Maggie Street, described as follows:
Be inning at a point on the north line of Palmer Street
159 feet west of Maggie Street; thence in a straight line
across Palmer Street and parallel with Maggie Street 50
feet to a point on the south lire of Palmer Street; thence
westwardly with the south line of Palmer Street 252 feet,
more or less, to -the east line of Lizzie Street; thence
across Palmer Street with the east line of Lizzie Street
approximately 50 feet to the northeast corner of Lizzie
Street and Palmer Street; thence with the north line of
Palmer Street 255 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to institute
and prosecute, pursuant to KRS 94.360, an action in the McCracken
Circuit Court for a judgment ordering the closing of the alley
and street described in Section 1 hereof.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
