HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 410, No Resolution Number10 i A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH 1:!ITH ITS REQUIRE14ENTS OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JANUARY 1, 1965 TO JUNE 30, 1965. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COD41MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That theCity Manager he, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah with its re- cuirements of regular and ethyl gasoline, motor oil, diesel fuel, chassis lubricant, pear lube oil, h=.7draulic oil, kerosene and anti -freeze for the period beginninp January 1, 1965, or as soon thereafter as possible, and extending to and including June 30, 1965, at the lowest cash price per unit, unit price to include State Tax, but exclusive of Federal Tax, in accordance with all terms and specifications listed herein. Each bidder must guarantee and state the octane rating contained in the regular and ethyl gasoline he proposes to supply, the octane rating of eth vl gasoline to be not less than 99, the price to be listed as the prevailing tank wagon prices, plus or minus,: motor oil to be detergent heavy duty, premium (not to be a fleet oil) and first grade, and first Frade non -detergent (requirements approximatelv 350 gallons of each per six month period); Diesel, high detergent motor oil (requirements approxi- mately 250 gallons per six month period): diesel fuel to be No. 2 (re- quirements approximatelv 3,300 gallons per six month period); chassis lutricant to be all=purpose (requirements approximately 150 pounds per six month period): sear lube oil to he ILO and 90 weight (requirements approximately 700 pounds per six month period); kerosene (requirements approximately 3,300 gallons per six month period); anti -freeze to be permanent type (requirements approximately 150 gallons per six month period). The requirements for regular gasoline .•rill be approximately 32,000 gallons per six month period and for ethvl gasoline approximately 30,000 gallons per six month period. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and install .four (L) electrically operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary tanks and required concrete islands and .•gill he required to furnish one (1) electrically operated and metered diesel pump and underground tank. In the event bids are awarded to more than one bidder and success- ful bidder for eth,,l gasoline will he required to furnish three (3) pumps, tanks and islands: and the successful bidder for the regular gasoline shall be required to furnish one (1) pump, tank and island, and the successful bidder .for the diesel .fuel shall lie required to furnish one (1) pump and tank. 411 Bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in the bid price and shall also ruarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the market price of anv of the items bid on. The bidder will so state in his bid that he agrees to five 2L -hour emerPencv tank truck service to any point in the Citv of Paducah seven days per.week. In the event of a temporary tank waeon price less than normal, the City will be charred the normal tank wagon price less the discount or the temporary tank wagon price without the discount whichever results in a lower net price per rallon of rasoline. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the Citv Hall door and by inserting notice of request for bids in the Sun Democrat, as provided .for by. law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall he received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the openinP of same shall be filed with the Poard of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reiect anv and all bids and the Citv shall not become legally obligated to purchase said products until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
