HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 400, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE DISCLAIMING AND QUIT -CLAIMING ANY AND ALL INTEREST THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, MIGHT HAVE IN AND TO OF THE PADUCAH JUNIOR COLLEGE OF PADUCAH AND/OR THE PADUCAH JI COLLEGE CORPORATION LOCATED ON THE NORTH LINE OF BROADWAY IN CITY BETWEEN 7TH AND 9TH STREETS WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Paducah Junior College of Paducah acting on behalf of the City of Paducah, entered into a certain Contract, Lease, and Option with the Paducah Junior Collerre Corporation on the 29th day of November, 1939, which Contract, Lease, and Option is recorded in DeedBook 208, page 61 in the McCracken County Court Clerk'; Office, and WHEREAS the purpose for such action was in connection wi certain bonds referred to in the deed of trust recorded in Moi Book 110, page 2L, in said Clerk's Office which were then out- standing but which have since been fully paid and redeemed as shown by the deed of release recorded in Deed Book 317, page 173, in said Clerk's office, and WHEREAS the purposes for which said action was taken no longer exist.and said Contract, Lease, and Option have expired, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby.disclaims and quit- claims any and all interest.which it has in and to the premises of the Paducah Junior College of Paducah and/or the Paducah Junior College Corporation, located in Paducah, Kentucky, particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the north line of Broadway Street One Hundred (100) feet west from the inter-- section nter-section of the west line of Seventh Street and the north line of Broadway, corner to Broadway Methodist Church (formerly Methodist Episcopal Church South); thence with the north line of Broadway toward Ninth Street One Hundred (100) feet to the line of Woolfolk; thence with Gloolfolk's line toward Jefferson Street One Hundred Sixty-five.(165) feet to an alley; thence with the line of said alley toward Seventh Street One Hundred (100) feet to the line of Broadway Mothodist Church (formerly Methodist Episcopal Church South); thence with its line One Hundred Sixty-five (165) feet to the point of beginning. Being in all respects the same premises referred to in the Contract, Lease and Option dated the 29th day of November, 1939 and recorded in Deed Book 208, page 61, in the McCracken County Court Clerk's Office. SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes its Mayor and City Clerk to act on its behalf in executing a deed to 401 Paducah Junior College Corporation, its successors and assigns, by which the City quitclaims forever all interest of the City in and to said premises and in which the City particularly releases and quit- claims any and all its rights under or pursuant to the aforementioned Contract, Lease, and Option dated November 29, 1939, and recorded in Deed Book 209, pa; -e 61 in said Clerk's Office. SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
