HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 399, No Resolution Number399 r/ A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1965 3/1, -TON PICK-UP TRUCK FOR USE BY THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one (1) new 1965 3/1 -ton pick-up truck for use by the Maintenance Department of said City having the following approximate specifications: 135 H.P.; standard transmission; heavy duty springs; heater and defroster; eight foot minimum bed; heavy duty rear bumper, channel iron type; colors to be specified; and each bidder is to specify standard equipment of the truck bid upon by him. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the truck he offers for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 195£ International Pick-up truck (wreck damaged). SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the openinrr of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of. Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
