ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITIONS OF DIRECTOR OF PU''LIC IORKS AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC !'FORKS, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SAID POSITIONS AND THE SALARIES THEREOF", :'1HICH I9AS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF C01-74ISSIONERS OTI JUNE 8, 19`9, AND AT' -LADED ON JANUARY 22, 1963 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C011-iISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section I of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on June 8, 1959, and amended on January 22, 1963, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 1. There is hereb;r created the positions in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to be known as the Director of Public Works and Assistant Director of Public '.forks. The position of Director of Public Works shall be under the direction and supervision of the City 111anaFer, The person occup=inrr said position of Director of Public :'forks shall be charged with the supervision of all work connected with the main- tenance of streets, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, refuse collection and disposal and such other related work as may be required by the Citv Manarer. The salary of the Director of Public !.,forks shall be $525.00 per month and shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other employ=ees of the City are paid. The position of Assistant Director of Public Works shall be under the direction and supervision of the Director of Public ?9orks and the City 1 -tanager, and such person shall have the duties as herein set out for the Director of Public .'forks. The salary of the Assistant Director of Public :'forks shall be 4490.00 per month and shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other employees of the City are paid. Said positions of Director of Public !'forks and Assistant Director of Public !'forks shall not be civil service positions or covered by anv provisions of the civil service ordinance of the City of Paducah or b-- the provisions of the civil service Statutes of the State of Kentuck,r, and the persons fillinrr such positions shall not acquire any rinhts under the rules of civil service ro:erninm employees in cities of the second class." SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. 335 SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption, and shall he retroactive to July 1, 19f,4.
