HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 320, No Resolution Number320 / A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF PLANTS AND PLANTERS FOR VARIOUS INTERIORS OF THE NEI'J CITY HALL IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, PREPARED BY EDIWARD DURELL STOPiE, ARCHITECT OF NEW YORK CITY, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY i:ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF SAME BE I^1 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C W1°ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Citi- of Paducah, Kentucky, by and through its Board of Commissioners, does now approve the plans and specifications for the furnishing and installation of plants and planters for various interiors of the new City Hall in said City, prepared by Edward Durell Stone, Architect of New York City. SECTION 2. That the City Manarer be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the furnishing and installation of plants and planters for various interiors of the new City Hall mentioned in Section 1 hereof, using substantiallir the followinc7 form: "INVITATION FOR BIDS "The City of Paducah, Kentuck,:r, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing and installation of plants and planters for various interiors of the new Cit:r Hall in said City until 10:00 o'clock A.T•r:. (CST) on the 11th day of Aurrust, 196L, in the Commission Chamber, Third Floor, present City Hall in said City, and at that time will be publicly opened and read aloud. "Information for Bidders and Specifications may be obtained at the City lianaaer's office, Third Floor, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, and plans of said interiors may be examined at said office, or a set of such plans may be obtained at said office by depositing a certified check or a bank draft payable to the City of Paducah, or cash, in the amount of $5.00 with the City Iianaper for each set of plans so obtained. AnNr bona fide bidder returning such a set of plans within ter. (10) days after the bid openin:7, and in Food condition, will be refunded his payment. "A certified check or ;ank draft payable to the City of Paducah, or a satisfactory hid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable surety- in an amount equal to 5; of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. "The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pal, for satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds, and satis- factory workmen's compensation and liability insurance. 321 'The City of Paducah reserves the richt to waive and infor- malities in the bidding and to reject any or all bids. "No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (k5) days subsequent to the openinr of bids unless authorized by official action of the Board of Commissioners of the said City. CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY By: R. L. Brockman City Manager" The City i•anarer shall advertise for sealed bids by postine a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat as provided for by law, and one (1) such insertion shall be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. No bid shall be receiS1ed after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening- of same. All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for the openin.F of same shall be filed with the Board of Com- missioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the richt to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities in the bidding, and the City shall not become le7all,, obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTII 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
