HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 32, No Resolution Number32 / RESOLUTION TO REQUEST AUTHORIZATION OF REFERENDUM WHEREAS, Section 61.435 of Kentucky Revised Statutes establishes procedures whereby members of retirement systems in Political subdivisions may obtain Social Security coverage, and WHEREAS, such procedures are in conformity with Section 218 (d), of the Social Security Act. NOW THEREFORE, by it Resolved that the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by its Board of Commissioners, desiring to obtain Social Security coverage of its employees, hereby respectfully requests the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky to authorize the necessary referendum among the employees of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, who are members of the Civil Service Retirement System to determine whether a majority of such employees desire Social Security coverage. It is further requested that the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky designate an individual or agency to conduct the necessary referendum. The Board of Commissioners of said city, suggests the name of Howard Z. Gray, who is Vice President of Citizens Bank & Trust Company, as an individual desirable to conduct the necessary referendum. Suggested as an alternate is Charles M. Pritchett who is Assistant Vice President of said Bank.
