ORDINANCE NO. 2001-7- 6-375—
AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AN AGREEMENT EXECUTED
BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND THE HOUSING
AUTHORITY OF PADUCAH FOR HOUSING AUTHORITY
PATROL
WHEREAS, Paducah Housing Authority (PHA) has received funding for
drug elimination efforts through the 2000 Public Housing Drug Elimination Program; and
WHEREAS, the PHA and the City have identified the need for additional
police patrols in the PHA's housing sites and have agreed to the establishment of a
Housing Authority Patrol; and
WHEREAS, the PHA and the City have reached an oral understanding
regarding the rights and obligations of the parties regarding the Patrol; and
WHEREAS, the parties have been performing pursuant to their oral
understanding, but desire to reduce said understanding to writing.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby ratifies the Agreement executed
by the Mayor between the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the Housing Authority of
Paducah formally establishing a Housing Authority Patrol.
SECTION 2. This Agreement shall be retroactive to March 1, 2001.
SECTION 3. Due to time constraints by the Department of Housing and
Urban Development, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
become effective immediately with one reading.
