AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, TO EXECUTE AN EXTENSION OF A LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE
ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY FOR A PORTION OF GROUND OCCUPIED
AND USED BY THE CITY AS A PART OF BARKLEY PARI{
WHEREAS, BARKLEY Park in the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
adjoins certain property of the Illinois Central Railroad Compania, and
WHEREAS, it appears that a certain portion of said park
as now used constitutes an encroachment upon the property of the
Illinois Central Railroad Company, and
WHEREAS, heretofore by an ordinance adopted by the Board of
Commissioners of said City on Aiarch 10,. 1959, Illinois Central Railroad
Company leased said portion of said property to the City for a term
endinm March 31, 196G. for rental of One Dollar (11.00) per year
payment acknowled7ed, and
WHEREAS, said Illinois Central Railroad Company is now
willing to extend said lease under its said terms endin.p March 31, 1969.
NOW THEREFORE, he it ordained by the Foard of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky:
SECTION 1. That the Mlavor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
he, and he is hereby, authorized to execute, on behalf of said City,
an extension of a lease from Illinois Central Railroad Compania
whereby said Company arrees to extend its present lease for a five
(5) year period ending- March 31, 1969, certain of its property now
being used by the City as a part of Barkley Park.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in .full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
