HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 136, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE NEW 1963 OR 1961, MODEL FARM TRACTOR FOR USE IN THE FLOODs'ALL DEPARITIENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON SIHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C01,11MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new 1963 or 1964 model farm tractor for use in the Floodwall Department of the City of Paducah, having the following specifications: Low Center of gravity having an approximate turn over angle of 63 degrees Powered by a gasoline engine having an approximate brake horsepower of L8 at 2200 engine R.P.M., and an approximate torque horsepower of 121 at 1600 engine R.P.P41. Continuous live power take off of not less than 35 horsepower at 2200 engine R.P.M. Dual rear wheels with 1;-pl?r rubber tires size 8 x 21;.. Front wheels to have 1. -ply rubber tires size approximately 650 x 13. Automatic transmission and having a minimum of 7 forward and 2 reverse speeds. Power steering. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purcjase of the equipment he offers for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as a trade-in one (1) 1946 model V.A.I. Case tractor, Serial No. 5055194. SECTION 2. That the City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and insetting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be re- ceived after the hour fired in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time .fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commission- ers who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to refect any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing* the execution of a purchase contract. SECTI01'd 3. That this Resolution shall be in .full force and effect from and after its adoption..
