HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 1118, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO .ADVERTISE FOR BIDS.FOR.THE COASTRUCTION OF RELIEF SEWERS, CONTRACT No. 1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of relief sewers, Contract No. 1, according to plans and specifications prepared by Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, and in so adver- tising he will use substantially the following form: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Project ivo. WS -3-18-0003 City of Paducah, Kentucky Owner Separate sealed bids for Contract No. 1 - Relief Sewers for relief sewers and appurtenant work will be received by the City of Paducah, Kentucky at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall; Paducah, Kentucky, until 10:00 o'clock A.M. CST January 12, 1967, :and then at said.office publicly opened and read aloud. The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract,. Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bond,.and other contract.documents may be examined at the following: Office of City Clerk, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky or Office of Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, P. 0. Box 173, 4600 East 63rd Street Trafficway, Kansas City, Missouri 64141 Copies may be obtained at the office of Burns & McDonnell Eng. Co. located at Bos 173, Kansas City, No. 6416.1 upon payment of $35.00 for each seta Any unsuccessful bidder, upon returning such set promptly and in good condition, will be refunded his payment, and any non -bidder upon so returning such a set will be refunded $15.00. The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the invitation for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published at least one (1) time not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder. Said Board shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities in the bidding and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
