HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 1114, No Ordinance Number1114 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND RECORDED IN ORDINANCE BOOK 11, PAGE 249, AND AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, THE LAST AMENDMENT BEING ON MARCH 22, 1966, AND RECORDED IN ORDINANCE BOOK 15, PAGE 867, BY AMENDING SECTION 9 THEREOF AND BY ADDING SECTIONS 10 AND 11 THERETO BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 9 of the "Appointive Employees Civil Service Ordinance," which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and recorded in Ordinance Book 11, page 249, and amended from time to time, the last amendment being on March 22, 1966, and recorded in Ordinance Book 15, page $67, be amended, and that Sections 10 and 11 be added to said ordinance, so that said Section 9 be, and it is hereby amended and reordained, and Section 10 and Section 11 be, and are hereby ordained so that said Section 9 as amended and reordained and Sections 10 and 11 as ordained, shall read as follows: "SECTION 9. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions not assigned to any department of the City of Paducah, but directly under the supervision of the City Manager, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position City Clerk Secretary to City Manager and Mayor Social Worker MAINTENANCE Chief of Maintenance Division No. 1 Maintenance Man Maintenance Helper (2 positions) Janitor Assistant Janitor (2 positions) INSPECTIONS Building & Electrical Inspector Clerk -typist No. 1 Clerk -typist No. 2 Base Monthly Salary $435.00 360.00 225.00 490.00 Base Hourly Rate $2.13 1.78 1.63 1.33 Base Monthly Salary $560.00 270.00 225.00 The Building & Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties formerly performed by the Building Inspector and the Electrical Inspector, and said Buildinp & Electrical Inspector shall be under the direct supervision of the City Manager. 1115 The Social Worker shall be paid at the rate of $225,00 per month for the first six months of employment;.at the expiration of six months $240.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $255.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $265.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The No. 1 Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $2.13 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.16 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Maintenance Helpers shall be paid at the rate of $1.78 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $1.$3 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Janitor shall be paid at the rate of $1.63 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.68 per hour and at the expiration of pne year $1.73 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Assistant Janitors shall be paid at the rate of $1.33 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.38 per hour and at the expiration of one year $1.43 -per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Clerk -typist No. 1 shall be paid at the rate of $270.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $280.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $290.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $300.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Clerk -typist No. 2 shall be paid at the rate of $225.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $240.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $255.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $265.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. "SECTION 10. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Police Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportion- ment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary Stenographer - Record Room $270.00 Meter Maid (2 positions) 270.00 The Stenographer - Record Room shall be paid at the rate of $270.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $280.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $290.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $300.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 1116 t/ Meter Maids shall be paid at the rate of $270.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $280.00 per month; at the expiration of one ,year $290.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $300.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation'of the City Manager. SECTION 11. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Parks and Recreation Department, and the salary of each position provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary Director $680.00 Recreation Supervisor 445.00 Chief Clerk 365.00 Secretary 300.00 Girls & Women's Supervisor 345.00 Recreation Center Supervisor 310.00 " SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewi are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
