HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 1072, No Ordinance Number1072 X t% AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO UNION AFFILIATION AND ACTIVITIES OF SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY WHEREAS, the responsibilities and duties of supervisory personnel include the direction and motivation of City employees and recommendations as to their promotion, discipline and termination, and WHEREAS, in order to provide the essential services for the health and safety of the City in the event of a work stopparTe by City personnel, the supervisory employees are expected to perform anv and all duties assigned to them by the City, including duties normallv performed by the employees enraged in the work stoppage, and WHEREAS, membership in an emplovee association or union, that has as its stated intent a formal agreement with the Citv coverine representation of City emplovees in matters affecting the welfare of City employees, is in direct conflict with the responsibilities and duties of supervisory personnel. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIU4ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. No City supervisory personnel shall be a member of an employee association or union that has as its stated intent a formal agreement with the City coverinr• representation of City employees in matters affecting the welfare of City employees. SECTION 2. Supervisory personnel shall include, but not he limited to, department heads and foremen and emplovees havinrT similar duties. SECTION 3. Failure to comply with this ordinance shall be -rounds for dismissal from employment with the Citv. SECTION 4.
