YANCY & SONS ASPHALT PAVING COMPANY FOR THE PXSURFACING OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, INCLUDING THE RAISING AND RESETTING OF MANHOLES, CATCH BASINS AND MONUMENTS, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID CONTRACT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager -be, and he -is hereby, - authorized to enter into a contract with W. H. Yancy & Sons Asphalt Paving Company (hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor") for the resurfacing of various streets in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and said work shall be done on the following terms, conditions and specifications: The surfacing of the present pavement shall be leveled where necessary and surfaced with approximately 2 -inch application of Kentucky State Highway Class I Type B bituminous concrete surfacing, Class I bituminous leveling course. Said work to include botuminous prime coat RS -1 complying with Kentucky State Highway specifications, and the raising and resetting to grade of manholes, catch basins and monuments located in the areas to be resurfaced. The surfacing shall consist of limestone aggregate complying with Kentucky State Highway specifications. Said work of resurfacing shall be paid for by the City to the Contractor on the following, basis: Kentucky State Highway Class I Type B bituminous concrete surfacing, and Class I bituminous leveling course for the sum of ;13.00 per ton. Bituminous prime coat RS -1 complying with Kentucky State Highway specifications for the sum of $'0.50 per gallon. Raising and resetting- of manholes, catch basins and monuments for the sum of $75.00 each. All work to he done by the Contractor under the direction of the City of Paducah Engineering Department and the street areas to he resurfaced shall be designated by the City Manager. The work done by the Contractor shall he paid for upon certification of tre completion thereof by the City Engineer and approved and accepted by him. it is estimated that approximately 100 to 300 tons of surfacin, will he required. The Contractor shall execute a performance bond in the amount of the estimated cost of the work to insure the proper performance and completion of said work, and in addition thereto will he required to keep in full force and effect liability insurance protecting the City 1036, from any claims of persons or property of persons in the following* amounts: $100,000 for personal injury or death to any one person 6200,000 for personal inury or death to more than one person resulting from the same accident, and $10,000 for damage to property in.anv one accident SECTIOA� This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall -be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter. 7 Mayor --- Introduced by the Board of Commissioners August 9, 1966 Passed by the Board of Commissioners Aupust 16, 1966 Recorded ',- Sarah Thurman, City Clerk_, August 16, 1966.
