A LEASE TO CERTAIN LAND OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FRONTING ON THE OHIO RIVER NEAR THE SE19AGE TREATMENT PLANT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C%WISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1_ That the Mavor and City Clerk of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City, a lease to Captain.John B. Ritchie, Sr. in words and figures as follows: "THIS.LEASE made and entered into on this the day of August, 1966, by and between CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, a municipal corporation of the second class, hereinafter called "Lessor", and CAPTAIN JOHN B. RITCHIE, SR, of Paducah, Kentucky, hereinafter called "Lessee", W I T N E S S E T 11 "THAT for and in consideration of the hereinafter set out rental and subject to the hereinafter terms and conditions, the Lessor does hereby lease to the Lessee certain land of the Lessor in said City, described as follows: "Being a strip of land along the Ohio River 150 feet in depth and extending; down stream from the line of Flournoy Street, if extended, to the present city limits, said land being near the city land fill and the sewage treatment plant. "The duration of this lease is for a term of five (5) years with an option to renew for an additional five (5) years, subject, however, to the richt of cancellation by either party after the first full year upon six months notice. "The rent for the first term shall he $60.00 per month and the rent for the second term shall he $75.00 per month. "No improvements of any type shall he placed upon the herein leased land except within 150 feet of the river hank at normal pool stare, and any improvements will he of a semi-permanent nature and shall i;e remo-ed by the Lessee at the expiration of this lease. "The leased premises shall not be underlet or the terms, in whole or in part, assigned, transferred or set over by the Lessee without beim* approved by official action of the Board of Commissioners of the aforesaid Cite. "It is the intention of the lessor that the Lessee shall have full and complete and peaceable possession of the leased premises for tIe term set out herein, however, should this lease i:e cancelled and held for naught by operation of law, the Lessor shall not be liable to the Lessee for any damages by reason of such termination. "The execution of this lease by the Lessor is authorized by Resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky on the day of Aufust 1966.
