AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT
TO THE SOUTH CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; DEFINING
ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SUCH TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED TO SAID CITY;
AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory adjacent
to the south corporate limits of the City -of Paducah, Kentucky, more
particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is described
as follows:
Beginning at a point in the present city limits line
said point being the north east corner of a tract of
ground acquired by Algernon Blair, Inc., in Deed Book
324, page 277 recorded in McCracken County Court Clerk's
office, said point being 660.72 feet east of Farwood
Drive as measured along the north line of the Algernon
Blair property; thence north 16 deg. 29 min. 30 sec. east
and with the east line of the Algernon Blair, Inc.
property extended to a point 225 feet south of the center
line of the Berger Road; thence in an easterly direction
225 feet at right angles from and parallel with the
center line of the Berger Road to a point where the east
line of J. A. Younkers tract acquired by deed recorded in
Deed Book 357, page 244 recorded in McCracken County Court
Clerk's office, located on the north side of the Berger
Road would, if extended south, intersect said point; thence
in a northerly direction and with Younkers west line and
with said line extended to the present city limits corner
to Paxton Park; thence westerly with the southern boundary
of Paxton Park and with the present city limits to Grundy
street; thence southerly with Grundy street and the present
city limits to Goodman Drive; thence westerly and southerly
with the present city limits to the Berger Road; thence
westerly with the Berger Road and the present city limits
to a point 170 feet from the Lone Oak Road; thence southerly
parallel with the Lone Oak Road and with the present city
limits to Ferguson's north line; thence easterly and with
Ferguson's north line and with the present city limits to
an abrupt angle in said city limits; thence southerly and
with the present city limits to a point where a line 160 feet
from and parallel with Chestnut street would, if extended east,
intersect said point; thence westerly and with said extended
line, said line being the present city limits line, to a point
170 feet from the Lone Oak Road; thence southerly 170 feet
from and parallel with the Lone Oak Road and with the present
city limits to Nelson's north line; thence eastwardly, with
Nelson's north line and with the present city limits to the
north east corner of the Nelson tract; thence southerly with
Nelson's east line and with the present city limits to the
north line of Block 1, Forest Hills; thence eastwardly and
with said North line of Block 1 and said line extended and
with the present city limits to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of
the City of Paducah, Kentucky by annexing the property described in Section
1 hereof isdesirable and necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in at least ten (10)
issues of the Sun Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, and the exten-
sion of the City limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until

the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1
hereof as herein proposed, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until
publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration
of a period of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance.
Notice is hereby given of a provision of Section $1.110 of Kentucky
Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein
territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty (30) days after the
enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of McCrac
County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why such territory, or any part
of it, shoudl not be annexed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after itsadoption.
