HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 854, No Resolution Number81V A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT OFFER IN CONNECTION WITH PROJECT NO. AP1J-KY-1G FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACCELERATION ACT WHEREAS, there has been filed with the Government in behalf of the City of Paducah, Kentucky (herein called the Applicant) an application, Project No. APW-Kv-10, for Federal assistance under the Public Works Acceleration Act, Public Law 57-655, and the UNITED STATES OF AI,1RICA, Housing and Home Finance Agency, Community Facilities Administration, acting by and through the Regional Director of Community Facilities Activities, has transmitted to the Applicant for acceptance a Grant Offer dated December 6, 1962 of Federal Assistance in connection with the Project referred to in said application and de- scribed in said Offer; and WHEREAS, said Grant Offer has been fully considered in accordance with all pertinent rules of procedure and legal requirements, and made a part of the Applicant's public records; and MEREAS, it is deemed advisable and in the public interest that said Grant Offer be accepted; NO:J THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COT94ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the said Grant Offer, a true and correct copy of which, including the Special Conditions and the Terms and Conditions, is hereto attached, be and the same hereby is accepted without reservation or qualification and be it further resolved that the Applicant will within sixty (60) days from the date of the Grant Offer furnish the Government satisfactory evidence that its share of the Project Cost is available or that firm and binding arrangements have been entered into to provide such funds as they are needed to meet Project costs and that the Applicant agrees that its failure to do so will automatically cancel the Grant Offer and this Acceptance, thereby releasing the Federal Government from any and all claims or liabilities in connection with this Grant and/or Project. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
