HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 836, No Ordinance Number$P, AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF WILLIAM AMOS USHER AND WIFE, POLLY JANE USHER, LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory (property of William Amos Usher and wife, Polly Jane Usher) adjacent to the west corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, more patricularly described hereinafter, be annexed to said city, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is described as follows: Being Lot No. 4 of Windsor -Woods Subdivision as shown by plat of said Subdivision recorded in Plat Book "F", page 47 in the McCracken County Court Clerk's office. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance. Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110 of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty (30) days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why said territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed. SECTION 4.
