HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 825, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION L OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITIONS OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SAID POSITIONS AND THE SALARIES THEREOF", WHICH WAS ADOPTED ON JUNE 8, 1959, AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 23, 1961 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: I y SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on June g, 1959, and amended on January 23, 1961, be, and the same is ,I hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 1. There is hereby created the positions in the City of Paducah, Kentucky to be known as the Director of Public �� Works. and Assistant Director of Public Works. � �, / r � i' Gr � The position of Director of Public Works shall be under the direction and supervision of the City Manager. The person occupying said position of Director of Public Works shall be charged with the supervision of all work connected with the main- tenance of streets, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, refuse collection and disposal and such other related work as may be required by the City Manager. The salary of the Director of Public Wroks shall be $465.00 per month and shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other employees of the City are paid. The position of Assistant Director of Public Works shall be under the direction and supervision of the -irector of Public Works and the City Manager, and such person shall have the duties as herein set out for the Director of Public Works. The salary of the Assistant Director of Public Works shall be $440.00 per month and shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the i salaries of other employees of the City are paid. Said position of Director of Public Works and Assistant Director of Public Works shall not be civil service positions or covered by any provisions of the Civil service ordinarc a of the City of Paducah or by the provisions of the civil service Statutes it of the State of Kentucky, and the persons filling such positions shall not acquire any rights under the rules of civil service governing employees in cities of the second class." SECTION 2, All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. 826 SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption, and shall be retroactive to November 1, 1962.
