A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO OBTAIN PROPOSALS FROM A CONSULTING ENGINEER OR ENGINEERS AS TO
RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROBABLE COST OF PLANS FOR A SEWER SURVEY OF
CERTAIN AREAS
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has recently annexed
certain areas; is in the process of anneking other areas and may
possibly proceed to annex additional areas, and
WHEREAS, such areas and other areas within the city,
do not now have sewers available, and
WHEREAS, in such areas not served by sewers there exists
an undesirable health and sanitation condition which will become
worse if proper sewers are not constructed as soon as possible, and
WHEREAS, before proper subdivision of some of such areas
may be accomplished by laying out lotd and streets, it Drill be
advantageous to have plans and designs for an adequate system of
sewers to serve same, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire and intention of the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah to provide adequare sewer
facilities for all areas mentioned herein, with the cost of same
to be financed in part by the issuance of revenue bonds to be
retired from proceeds of the sewer usage charges and partly by
connection fees to be paid by the property owners to be served.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMLSSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to obtain proposals from a consulting
engineer or engineers as to recommendations and probable cost of
plans for a sewer survey to be made on the areas now within the
city not served by sewers; of the areas in the process of being
annexed and other areas adjacent to same.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager shall report his findings
to this board as soon as ppssible.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
