HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 787, No Resolution Number787 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THREE HEAVY DUTY CAB AND CHASSIS UNITS FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCP.Y: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise .for bids for the purchase of three (3) new heavy duty. cab & chassis units with conventional cabs, for use by the Department of Public Works of the City, and having the following approximate specifications: One (1) can & chassis 15$11 wheelbase, 84" cab to axle. One (1) cab & chassis 146" wheelbase, 72" cab to axle. Truck iianufacturers G.V.W. Minimum Rating of 27,000 lbs. Truck Nanufacturers G.C.M. Minimum Rating of 50,000 lbs. One (1) cab and chassis 146" wheelbase 72" cab to axle, with 4 cu. yd. Dump Body (water level) Truck Manufacturers G.V.W. Minimum Rating of 27,000 lbs. Truck Manufacturers G.C.W. Minimum Rating of 50,000 lbs. All three (3) to be equipped with, Minimum Gross H.P. Rating og 200 H.P. 9,000 lbs. Front Axle 18,500 lbs. Single speed rear axle Five (5) speed transmission I Mechanical Tachometer R. P. M. Governor. Heavy Dity Coaling System Heavy duty generator 40 amp - 60 watt. Increased capacity spring minimum of 10,000 lbs at Pad. Increased capacity brakes Front end torr hooks Dual Electric windshield wipers Directional signals West Coast type mirrors, one on each side Heater and defroster i 10.00x20 - 12 ply 100 level first line tires and tubes, I Front and rear, with spare mounted on cast spoke type wheels Colors to be specified. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the equipment he offers for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in 'i three (3) 1951 Chevrolet dump trucks pf said department, being, No. 36, No. 37 and No. 38. 788 SECTION 2. The City Lianager shall advertise for sealed bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City P-Ianager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect - from and after its adoption.
