AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"ADI ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND DIOIdTHLY SALARIES OF
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IDI CONFLICT
HEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COT,94ISSIOMERS ON AUGUST
5, 1952, AND APT;NDED ON JANUARY 23, 1961
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the

title quoted above, which was adopted on August 5, 1952, and amended
on January 23, 1961, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained
so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: I
"SECTION 1. The number and rank of members of the Police �•%
Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, pro-
vided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment

ordinance adopted hereafter, shall be as follows:

Police Captain 4 350.00
Detective Lieutenant 1 335.00

Sergeant 5 320.00
Sergeant Detective 2 320.00
Policemen 40 305.00
Provided, however, that any policeman hereafter appointed, during
his first year of service shall receive a salary of $280.00 per month
and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City Manager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to $290.00 for the second year of service,
and upon completion of a second ,year of satisfactory service as
determined by the City Dianager on recommendation of the Police Chief,
his monthly salary shall be increased to 'the sum of $305.00."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
