HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 759, No Ordinance Number759 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MELVIN RIVES FOR MOVING OF THE FLOODWALL-CIVIL DEFENSE BUILDING AT CLEMENTS AND MEYERS STREETS IPI THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the bid of Melvin Rives in the sum of $2,400.00 for the moving of the Floodwall-Civil Defense building at Clements and Meyers Streets in the City of Paducah, be accepted, and that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with the said Melvin Rives for the moving of said building under the terms, conditions and specifications as set out in the resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise for bids adopted by the Board of Commission- ers on June 12, 1962. A $2,400.00 Performance Bond with satisfactory Surety shall be furnished by the said Melvin Rives, and he shall perform said work within thirty (30) days from the execution of the contract authorizing same. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be IL put upon its final passage, and it being necessary for the public health and safety that subh building be moved as soon as possible, an emergency is now declared and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
