HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 710, No Resolution Number710 / V A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY TIANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1962 COMPACT TYPE FOUR DOOR. SEDAN FOR USE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC 14ORKS, AND PRE ,CRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCIiASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C01-11ISSICNERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one (1) new 1962 compact type four -door sedan having the following specifications: Standard equipment to be described completely by each bidder; automatic transmission and heater; colors to be specified by the City. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the automobile he offers for sale. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and must state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract.
