HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 638, No Resolution Number638 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE TO PADUCAH JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COtSIERCE A LEASE ON CERTAIN PROPERTY ON THE NORTH SIDE OF PARK AVENUE IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Paducah, Kentucky are hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City, the lease to Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce, in words and figures as follows: "THIS LEASE made and entered into on this the ` day of 1961, by and between CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, Hereinafter called "Lessor" and PADUCAH JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COiMERCE hereinafter called "Lessee" W I T N E S S E T H: THAT for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar (1¢1.00) per year, and other consideration referred to hereinafter, the Lessor does hereby lease to the Lessee a certain tract of land in the City of Paducah, County of McCracken and State of Kentucky, described as follows: Beginning at a point on the north line of Park Avenue 200 feet west of Thompson Avenue, said point being the south west corner of a tract of land conveyed to Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce by City of Paducah by deed dated June 25, 1958, and of record in Deed Book 399, page 473 in the McCracken County Court Clerk's Office; thence northwardly and with the west line of the last mentioned tract and parallel with Thompson Avenue 200 feet; thence westwardly and parallel with Park Avenue 200 feet; thence southwardly and parallel with Thompson Avenue 200 feet to a point on the north line of Park Avenue; thence eastwardly with the north line of Park Avenue 200 feet to the point of beginning. The term of this lease shall be for a period of j691 years from the date hereof. As part of the consideration of the herein lease, the Lessee binds itself, its successors and assigns: 1. That the herein described leased premises shall be used only as a parking lot for vehicles in connection with the existing Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce Civic Center building. 2. That it will construct a stone fence similar to the one now situated on the south line of the herein described leased property along the entire west and north side of same and along the entire north line of the tract mentioned above conveyed to Lessee by the Lessor. 639 In the event of the violation of any of the herein terms and conditions, at the option of the Lessor, this lease may be immediately cancelled and held for naught. The execution of this lease by the Lessor was authorized by a Resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky on the _ day of 19 Witness the hands of the Lessor and Lessee on this the day and year first above written.
