HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 63, No Ordinance Number63 f.1 AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYII;G ADJACENT TO THE SOUTHWEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SUCH TERRITORY TO'BE ANNEXED TO SAID CITY; AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANI•IEXATIOPI BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COR1ViISSIODERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory adjacent to the southwest corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, more par- ticularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is described as follows: Beginning at a point in the present city limits line said point being 183 feet north of the center line of the original 66 -foot road known as Hinkleville Road (US 60) and 170 feet west of the extended center line of the original 40 -foot street known as Thirty -Second Street; thence in a northerly direction and parallel with -Thirty -Second Street, if extended, 50 feet; thence in a westerly direction 233 feet from and parallel with the center line of the Hinkleville Road to a point in the center line, if extended, of a 40 -foot road known as Allen Lane (see plat recorded in Plat Book "F", Page 41, McCracken County Court Clerk's office); thence in a southerly direction and along the center line of Allen Lane and said center line extended to a point where the line dividing the property of •Lawrence and Stigall, if extended, intersects said center line; thence in a southwesterly direction and along the southeasterly line of Stigall and continuing along the southeasterly line of Conrad Heights (Recorded in Plat Book "D", Page 39, McCracken County Court Clerk's office) to a stone common corner with the rear of lots 204, 205 and 206 in said Conrad Heights Subdivision; thence in a southeasterly direction with the easterly line of Conrad Heights Subdivision and said line extended to the center line of the Potter Road or Friedman Lane; thence in a westerly direction and with the center line of Potter Road or Friedman Lane to a point 225.8 feet west of the center line of that portion of the Friedman Lane or Potter Road extending south- eastwardly towards the Pines Road; thence southeastwardly along a line 220 feet from and parallel with the Potter Road or Friedman Lane to a point 220 feet from and at right angles to the Pines Road; thence southwestwardly and along a line 220 feet from and at right angles to the Pines Road to the center line of Buckner Lane; thence in an easterly direction and with the center line of Buckner Lane to the center line of the Pines Road; thence at right angles to Buckner Lane to the extension parallel with Buckner Lane of the center line of Block 2, Coles Addition as recorded in Plat Book D, Page 64, McCracken County Court Clerk's Office; thence eastwardly, parallel with Buckner Lane, along said center line extended and the center line of both Blocks 1 and 2 of Coles Addition and with the center line of Block 1 extended to the west property line of the old Lloyd Bloomfield property; thence in a southeasterly direction and along Bloomfield crest line to the south property line of the Blandville Road; thence in a northeasterly direction with the south property line of the Blandville Road and with the present city limits to I4inerva Place or Forty -Third Street; thence northwardly with the present city limits to the north property line of Buckner Lane; thence eastwardly along the north property line of Buckner Lane with the present city limits to the east line of an original 20 -foot alley between Thirty -Ninth Street or Mimosa Lane and Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane; thence northerly along the east property line of said alley and with said present city limits to the center line extended of Lot 11, Block H, Gregory Heights Addition; thence westerly along the center line and said center line extended of Lot 11 and with the present city limits to the east property line of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane; thence northerly, with the east property line of 64: Fortieih Street or Country Club Lane and with the present city limits, 325 feet to Central Avenue; thence in a northerly direction and with the easterly property line of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane 1770.8 feet more or less to the south property line of the Pines Road; thence in a westerly direction and with the south property line of the Pines Road $$.3 feet more or less to a point where the southerly line of the Camilla Hougland property if extended would intersect the south property line of the Pines Road, said Houghland property being acquired by deed recorded in Deed Boole 372, page 273, ;cCracken County Court Clerk's Office; thence north 68 degrees 2 minutes 17 seconds west, crossing the Pines Road and with the southerly line of the Camilla Hougland property and continuing with the southerly line of the Country Club Terrace Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book "F", page 40, McCracken County Court Clerk's Office, a distance of 1401.8 feet more or less to a stone in the southerly property line of Phillips Avenue; thence north 4.2 degrees 29 minutes 24 seconds east and along the southerly property line of Phillips avenue 1385.76 feet to a stone; thence north 42 degrees 59 minutes east and continuing along the southerly property line of Phillips Avenue 115.0 feet to the southwest corner of the intersection of Phillips Avenue and Belleview Drive; thence at right angles and in a northerly direction 50 feet to the northerly property line of Phillips Avenue; thence north 42 degrees 59 minutes east qnd with the northerly property line of Phillips Avenue 115.3 feet more or less to a point 160 feet from the westerly property line of Lillian Avenue; thence in a northerly direction 160 feet from and parallel with Lillian Avenue a distance of 528 feet to the northerly property line of Minnich Avenue; thence in an east- erly direction and with the northerly property line of Minnich Avenue and with 6aid line extended 1028.0 feet more or less to the northeast corner of Lot 6, Block B, Annida Jennings Rose Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book A, page 112, McCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence in an easterly direction approximately 762 feet to a point where the present city limits line intersects the northerly property line of Minnich Avenue as established by plat of River Oaks Subdivision recorded in Plat Book D, page 88, 1'cCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence in a northerly direction and with the present city limits to the point of beginning." SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in at least ten (10) issues of the Sun Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, and the extension of the.city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof as herein proposed, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expira- tion of a period of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance. I,otice is hereby given of a provision of Section 81.110 of Kentu Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty (30) days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of HcCrac County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons who such territory, or any part of it, should not be anne::ed.
