HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 621, No Resolution Number621 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) NEW 1962 -.ONE-HALF TON PICK-UP TRUCKS, ONE FOR USE BY THE PARK BOARD OF THE CITY AND ONE FOR USE BY THE SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CON- DITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY i OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: I SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, !i requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, i Kentucky of two (2) new 1962 one-half ton pick-up trucks, one for I use by the Park Board of the City and one for use by the Sewage Treatment Plant of the City, having the following specifications: Standard equipment to be described completely by each bidder, i plus heater; one truck to be equipped with heavy duty rear bumber. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the vehicles he offers for sale and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1950 G.M.C. pick-up truck used by the Floodwall Department and one (1) 1948 Chevrolet flat-bed truck used by the Park Board. Colors to be specified by the City, and each bidder shall state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the reque't for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of! bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour'. i fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City; Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall bel filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to 'I purchase said vehicles until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
