HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 595, No Ordinance Number595 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACEI4T TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN SAID CORPORATE LIMITS WHEREAS under an ordinance adopted May 12, 1959, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by and through its Board of Commissioners, proposed to extend the boundary of the city by annexing certain property lying adjacent to the south west corporate limits of said city, and WHEREAS said ordinance proposing such annexation and declaring the desirability of same was published in ten (10) issues of the Sun -Democrat, a newspaper published and distributed in Paducah, Kentucky, during the period of thirty (30) days immediately after the enactment of said ordinance, and WHEREAS after the adoption of said ordinance and before the expiration of thirty (30) days, William Earl Harris and others filed a petition of Remonstrance in McCracken Circuit Court opposing such proposed annexation, and WHEREAS, on July 14, 1961 and after the trial of the action in open court, the Judge of the McCracken Circuit Court rendered a judgment ordering the annexation of a certain portion of the area proposed to be annexed, which portion is hereinafter particularly described, and WHEREAS the Clerk of the McCracken Circuit Court has certified said judgment to the Mayor and Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described property be annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the same being more particularly descrmbed as follows: Beginning at a point in the north property line of the Pines Road west of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane, said point being the south west corner of the Camilla Hougland property acquired by deed recorded in Deed Book 372, page 273, McCracken i County Court Clerkts office; thence in a westerly direction and with the north property line of the Pines Road to the Buckner Lane Road; thence at right angles to the Buckner Lane Road, in a southerly direction, to the extension parallel with Buckner Lane of the center line of Block 2, Coles Addi- tion as recorded in Plat Book D, page 64, McCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence eastwardly, parallel with Buckner Lane, along said center line extended and the center line of both Blocks 1 and 2 of Coles Addition and with the center line 596 of Block 1 extended to the west property line of the old Lloyd Bloomfield property; thence in a south easterly direction and along Bloomfield west line to the south property line of the Blandville Road; thence in a northeasterly direction, with the south property line of the Blandville Road and with the present city limits, to Minerva Place or Forty -Third Street; thence northwardly with the present city limits to the north property line of Buckner Lane; thence eastwardly along the north property line of Buckner Lane, with the present city limits, to the east line of an original 20 foot alley between Thirty-ninth Street or Mimosa Lane and Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane; thence northerly along the east property line of said alley and with said present city limits to the center line extended of Lot 11, Block H, Gregory Heights Addition; thence westerly along the center line and said center line extended of Lot 11 and with the present city limits to the east property line of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane; thence northerly, with the east property line of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane and with the present city limits, 325 feet to Central Avenue; tlence in a northerly direction and with the easterly property line of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane 1770,$ feet more or less, to the south property line of the Pines Road; thence in a westerly direction and with the south property line of Pines Road $$,3 feet more or less, to a point where the southerly line of the Camilla Hougland property, if extended, would intersect the south property line of the Pines Road, thence north 6$ degrees 02 minutes 17 seconds :vest and with thesoutherly line of Camilla Hougland property extended, crossing the.
