HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 563, No Resolution Number563 / A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW ELECTRIC HOSE DRYER TO BE USED AT THE NEW NUMBER TWO FIRE STATION IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one (1) new electric hose dryer to be placed at the new Number Two Fire Station, having the follow- ing specifications: "Minimum power output of 5000 watts, at 220 volts, 60 cycles, single phase alternating current. "Propeller type exhaust fan with minimum of V15 h.p, motor, Cable to connect to outlet. Thermostatic temperature control provided. "Construction to be of all steel welded frame; doors, panels and top heavy gage aluminized steel for rust resistance. "Ten (10) removable, easily-slideable hose racks of steel as light in weight as is practicable and galvanized after welding. Capacity to hold 500 feet of 22 -inch double jacket fire hose. Shall be shipped completely assembled." Each bidder shall furnish full details of the type of equipment bid upon by him and shall state the approximate time necessary for delivery after the purchase contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less i than seven (7) nor more than twenty-one (21) dats before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be I received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commission- l I ers who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
