HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 49, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCIIASE OF CERTAIN LAND IH PADUCAH, KENTUCKY FROM JOE TUCKER AI4D HIS I17IFE, RUTH TUCKER, TO BE USED AS A CONNECTING LINK BETWEEN THE SOUTH EMD OF HARAHAN AVENUE AND THE NORTH END OF SHELBY STREET BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI.ZIISSIOIIERS OF.THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky purchase fnr the hereinafter set out public use, certain property in Paducah, Kentucky from Joe Tucker and his wife, Ruth Tucker, described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 18 in Block B of the Kentucky RealtyCompany property (formerly known as Taylor and Mocquota plat of which is of record in Plat Book A, page 105, in the McCracken County Court Clerks office; said point also being on the east line of Harahan Avenue at the southern end of said street; thence eastwardly with the south line of said Lot 18 and across Shelby Street at its north dead end 52.66 feet to a point on the south line of said Lot 18, said point also being on the east line of Shelby at its north dead end; thence northwardly at an angle of 670 19' OL�z" across said Lot 18 and also lots 17 and 16 in said block 136.56 feet to a point on the east line of Harahan Avenue at the common corner of Lots 16 and 15 in the aforesaid block; thence southwrardly to the east line of Harahan Avenue 126 feet to the point of beginning. Being a part of the same land conveyed to Joe Tucker and wife, Ruth Tucker, by J. W. Hack and wife, Mary E. Hack, by deed dated April 6, 1946 and of record in Deed Book 262, page 6 in the afore- said Clerkts office and also by deed of correction between said parties dated September 24, 1957, and of record in Deed Book 3$9, page 539, in the aforesaid clerks office. SECTION 2. Said land is to be used to open a connecting link between the souty end of Harahan Avenue and the north end of Shelby Street. SECTION 3. The purchase price to be paid for said land is the sum of ti�?350.00 which shall be paid after the effective date of this ordinance but only after a proper deed has been executed to the City and removal by the said Joe Tucker and wife, Ruth Tucker of their present existing fences situated in Harahan Avenue and Kentucky Street.
