HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 468, No Resolution Number46$/ A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THIRTEEN (13) MOBILE 00101UNICATION UNITS FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON :WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COPIMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the purchase of thirteen (13) mobile communication units for use by the City of Paducah Police Department, having the following general specifications: 12 volt DC operation only; at least 15 watts RF output; to be designed and constructed to meet with full compliance all Federal Communication Commission Rules and Regulations that are to become in full effect in October, 1963, and are to operate in the 148-174 megacycle band; the units are to be installed in motor vehicles (not motorcycles) used by the police department of said city, and shall be fully warranted for a period of at least 90 days after installation. Each bidder shall submit in full all specifications on each type of unit bid upon by him, including both the transmitting and receiving sections of said unit. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the pity Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same, All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and said Board shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
