HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 429, No Resolution Number429 j A TESOLUTION REQUESTI;?G THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEIJ 1961 CO'R'ACT TYPE FOUR DOOR SEDAN FOR USE IDI THE DEPART'ENT OF PUBLIC JORKS, AND PRESCRIBIHG THE CONDITIONS UPON 19HICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE I•1ADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO'l!•IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City 'Tanager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of one (1) new 1961 compact type four door sedan having the following specifications: Standard equipment to be described completely by each bidder; automatic transmission and heater; colors to be specified by the City. Each bidder shgll state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the automobile he offers for sale, (arid also the amount of such Purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1952 Plymouth coupe. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and must state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTIOD? 2. The City 'Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City D,Ianager up th the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
