HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 425, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE; CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR LIDS FOR THIRTEEN (13)) I•IOBILE C -IMUNICATION UNITS FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBIIIG THE TEM -1S AND CONDITIOUS UPON 'THICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C0I11.7ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Tanager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise .for bids for the purchase of thirteen (13) mobile communication units for use by the City of Paducah Police Department, having the following specifications: General: Equipment must be so designed that it will meet all FCC rules for 30 KC channel assignments, operate in the band 1L,8-174 14C, with quiet channel equipment installed, and mounted in a dust proof case interchangable for underdash or trunk installation. Equipment shall be designed for service guidance with components clearly marked for fast simple servicing. Power supply shall be completely transistorized i•rith heat sink, to provide maximum heat dissipation and for 12 volts DC operation only. Transmitter: RF Pourer Output Not less than 30 watts. At his option bidder may submit separate bids on equipment delivering 30 watts and 60 watt Modulation Plus or minus 5 KC .for 100;5 Spurious Emission Imus 65 db everywhere Stability Audio Input R ceiver: Type of Circuit Selectivity Spurious Response Stability Sencitivity Squelch Control Audio Output Plus or minus 0.0005° obtained by the use of hermatically sealed quartz crystals Transistorized Microphones "rystal controlled, fixed frequency double superheterodyne Down at least 100 db plus or minus 20 KC at least minus 100 db Plus or minus 0.0005; obtained by the of hermatically sealed quartz crystals Not less than 0.6 microvolts for 20 db noise quieting 0.15 to 0.5 microvolts 5 watB or better at 4 ohms Receiver shall have a complement of transistors and tubes for low power drain operation Antenna Half wave type Installation All equipment to be installed and carry standard 90 day warranty 426 SECTIOP? 2. The City i,ianager shall advertise for scaled bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lo:•rest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
