AId ORDINANCE RELATI14G TO LICENSE TABES BY ADDING SECTION 31-A TO AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "Aid ORDINANCE FIXING AND REGULATING ECS THE LICENSE TAXES, AND P.IAtdNER AND FORM OF GRANTING AND ISSUING SAIF 1+' ON THE VARIOUS LINES OF BUSIPiESS, TRADES, OCCUPATIONS, PROFESSIONS, VOCATIONS AND CALLINGS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR NON-PAYP•ENT THEREOF, AND FOR VIOLATION C THEREOF, AND 1,3AKIIdG IT UNLAtIFUL TO ENGAGE IN ANY SUCH LINES OF BUSINESS, TRADES, OCCUPATIONS, PROFESSIONS, VOCATIONS AND CALLINGS WITHOUT FIRST PAYING THE LICENSE TAX AND PROCURING LICENSES AS PROVIDED HEREIN; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, A"D PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF CMMI SSI0:TERS ON DECEKBER 23, 1947 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIJI-IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IC;NTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 31-A be added to the ordinance having the abouecq_uoted title, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 23,•1947, and which Section 31'-A shall read as follows: "SECTION 31-A, Any person engaging in the business of a contractor or builder under Section 31 of this ordinance who was not licensed as such for the preceding calendar year, shall pay a tenta- tive license fee based upon the total amount of contracts held by him, and shall Furnish detailed information to the City Treasurer as to such amount. On or before March 15th of the following year, the licensee shall furnish information to the Treasurer as to the exact amount of hid gross business receipts for the preceding year, and the final license fee for such preceding year shall be based on such amount under Schedule D of Section 83 hereof. If such final license fee is less than the tentative license fee, the excess amount shall be refunded to the licensee; but if it is more than the tentative fee, the licensee shall pay the excess amount on or before said date of March 15th, Before issueing such tentative license, the City Treasurer may, in his discretion, require the applicant to ex=ecute bond to the city with good and sufficient surety to the effect that the final license fee will be paid in full." SECTIO11 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here;•rith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby reidealed.
