HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 397, No Ordinance NumberI 0 397 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC'T'ION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SAID POSITION AND THE SALARY THEREOF", VIHICH ;'dAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON FEBRUARY 26, 1957, AND AMENDED ON SEPTEMBER 22, 1959 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on February 26, 1957, and amended on September 22, 1959, be, and the same is hereby further amended"so that said section as amended shall read as follows: "SECTION 1. There is hereby created a position in the City of Paducah, Kentucky to be known as 'Director of Parks and Recreationt. The person occupying the position of Director of Parks and Recreation shall be charged with the supervision of all work and activities in connection with city parks and any recreation therein and such other related duties as may be required and designated by motion adopted by the Board of Commissioners. The salary of the Director of Parks and Recreation shall be p425.00 per month, and shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other employees are paid. Said position shall not be a civil service position or covered by any provision of the Civil Service Ordinance.of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, or by the provisions of the Civil Service Statutes of the State of Kentucky, and any person filling such position shall not acquire any rights under the rules of civil service governing employees of cities of the second class. The person occupyinn the position of Director of Parks and Recreation shall be allowed to use and occupy the dwelling situated upon the Moble Park property and all utilities and transportation necessary in the performance of his official duties shall be furnished to said person by the City." SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after its adoption, and shall be retroactive to January 16, 1961.
