HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 269, No Ordinance Number�U ✓ 269/ 1�•- a AN ORDINANCE CREATING A RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND PRESCRIBING THE PT:MBERSHIP, TERMS OF OFFICE AND DUTIES OF SUCH BOARD BE IT ORDAINED BY TIE BOARD OF COP214ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established a "Recreation Advisory Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky" consisting of five (5) members who shall be of legal age and residents of the County of McCracken. The members shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to approval of the Board of Commissioners. Two (2) of the members shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year, two (2) of the members shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years and one (1) member shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years. All appointments after the original term shall be for a period of three (3) years. Any member can be removed at any time by motion adopted by the Board of Commissioners. SECTION 2. The duties of the Recreation Advisory Board shall be to study and investigate plans for improving recreational facilities and programs carried on in the city parks and from time to time to recommend to the Board of Commissioners plans and suggestions for the better operation of recreational facilities, the appointment of the recreational director and any other matters deemed advisable by the herein created board. SECTIO:? 3. The Recreation Advisory Board shall have only advisory powers; shall not incur any indebtedness to be paid by the city; shall have no pourer of employment and shall serve without compensation. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
