HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 253, No Ordinance Number253 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KENTUCKY ASPHALT SALES COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF RC -0 TO 5 AND MC -0 TO 5 LIQUID A,-PHALT REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH DURING 1960; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID MATERIAL; AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the bid of Kentucky Asphalt Sales Company for the sale to the City of Paducah of all PIC -0 to 5 and RC -0 to 5 liquid asphalt required by the City of Paducah during the year 1960 be accepted, and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a contract for the purchase, upon the order of said city, all of such asphalt to be used during 1960 at the following prices: Liquid asphalt delivered by transport with insulated trailers at .PO.0872 per gallon F. 0. B. 6th and Campbell Streeta and/or to any point designated by the City of Paducah and by railroad insulated tank car at 40.1019 per gallon F. 0. B. 6th and Campbell Streets, Paducah, Kentucky, whichever way of shipping ordered by the City. Said contract shall also contain all of the terms and conditions contained in a resolution authorizing the advertisement for bids which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on March 8, 1960. A guarantee shall be provided against advance in market price and a guarantee shall be provided for reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the market price, and said Company shall post a performance bond in the sum of $2,500.00 guaranteeing specifi- cations and delivery. Terms of paymemt shall be 20 30 days, net 45 days. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) creek for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
