AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
IENTUCKY, TO EXECUTE A LEASE BE7VIEEN THE CITY AND THE ILLINOIS CENTRAL
RAILROAD C014PADIY FOR A PORTION OF GROUND OCCUPIED AND USED BY THE CITY
AS A PART OF BARKLEY PARK
WHEREAS, Barkley Park in the City of Paducah, Kentucky adjoins
certain property of the Illinois Qentral Railroad Company,:and
111HEREAS, it appears that a certain portion of said park as now
used constitutes an encroachment upon the property of the Illinois
Central Railroad Company; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Central Railroad Compsny is willing to
lease such portion to the City for five (5) years for a rental of ...1.00
per year, payment acknowledged.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COD]MISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute on behalf of the City
a lease from Illinois Central Railroad Company, whereby said Company
agrees to lease tb the City for a five (5) year period, beginning
March 18, 1959, certain of its property now being used by the City
as a part of Barkley Park; said lease to providd for a rental charge
of .31.00 per year, payment of which to be acknowledged by the Illinois
Central Railroad Company.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
