V. A. ACT; DECLARING THE DESIRE AND IHTEI`lTION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO ACCEPT THE PROVISIONS OF SAID ACT AS FAR AS THE SAME MAY BE APPLICABLE TO PROCEEDINGS INITIATED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO ACQUIRE SAID ELECTRIC SYSTEE BY PURCHASE, AND TO ACCEPT AND AGREE TO ALL PROVISIONS THEREOF RELATING TO THE OPERATION AND MAIi�'TENANCE OF AN ELECTRIC SYSTE !; AND PROVIDING FOR THT APPOII,IT!,2;1'!T OF A BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES TO OPERATE, MANAGE AND CONTROL SAID ELECTRIC UTILITY SYSTEi=I AND TO FUIlCTIOTT FOR ALL PURPOSES SET FORTH III SAID ACT; AMID FIXING THE. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE '-ELI•BERS OF SAID BOARD, THEIR TERI•IS OF OFFICE, COI IENSATION, PO"lERS AND DUTIES'', WHICH 'JAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF CO UIISSIOiIERS O -N JAAIURRY 30TH, 1945 BE IT ORDAINED BY TFL BOARD OF C0I,4ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, ITNTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on January 30, 1945, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 2. There is hereby created a board of public utilities, to be known as 'Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah', which shall be composed of four (4) appointive members, who shall be appointed in the manner provided by law, together with a fifth (5th) member who shall be either the City Eanager or some member of the governing body of said City, and who shall be designated in the manner provided by law, Said Board shall be a body-policit and corporate, with perpetual succession, and shall have all of the powers conferred upon it by law." SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict hererri.th are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
