AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2 AND 3 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTIT
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE OBTAINING AND PROCURING OF LIFE
INSURANCE ON THE GROUP PLAN FOR MEMBERS OF THE POLICE AND FIRE
DEPARTMENTS AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PREMIUMS THEREON"
WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD'. OF COMMISSIONERS ON JUNE 16, 1936,
AND AMENDED ON MAY 29, 1951 AND ON AUGUST 16, 1955
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sections 2 and 3 of an ordinance containing
title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioner
on June 16, 1936 and amended on May 29, 1951 and on August 16, 195
be further amended so that said sections as amended shall read as
follows:
"SECTION 2. The gross premiums shall be paid by contributioi.
from the employees of the police and fire departments and the City of
Paducah on the following basis: The employees shall each contribute
monthly the sum of Sixty ($0.60) Cents for $1,000.00 of insurance and
the City shall contribute the balance of the cost of said monthly
premiums not exceeding fifty (50%) percent of said monthly amount.
In the event said monthly premiums exceed the sum of $1.20 per employee
per $1,000.00 of insurance, then the monthly premiums shall be paid
by employees and the City in equal amounts. All earned dividends on

such insurance policy or policies shall be paid to the City and shall
be and become a part of the General Fund.
"SECTION 3. Said premiums shall be paid in monthly installments
and shall be set apart out of the amount due and owing to said employees
by the City as of the payroll period ending the 15th day of each and

every month hereafter so long as said insurance shall remain in full
force and effect.
"The John Hancock Lutual Life Insurance Company of Boston,
Massachusetts, having proposed a plan of such group life insurance
and by the terms of which each member of said group of insurance as
herein provided would have an insurance benefit on his life in the sum
of $1,000.00 to $5,000.00 as may be elected by the employee subject to
the hereinafter defined limits, the Mayor is authorized to execute
by signing, on behalf of the City and subject to the conditions con-
tained in this ordinance, an application or contract for the pro-
curement of such insurance.

'The total insurance benefits for said employees shall be as
follows:
"Employees earning less than $350.00 per month shall be
entitled to 0,000-00 of insurance benefits, and those earning $350.00
or more per month shall have insurance benefits of $b5,000.00."
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
