HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 180, No Ordinance Number180 f/1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION o -B OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND AMENDED ON SEPTEMBER 22, 1959 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IO;NTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 8-B of the "Appointive Employees Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commission- ers on December 2, 1947, and amended on September 22, 1959, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 8-B. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Public works Department, heretofore known as the Street Department, and the salaries of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Salary Per -ionth This department shall be under the direction and supervision of the Director of Public Uorks and Assistant Director of Public Works, non -civil service positions which have heretofore been created by separate ordinance. Chief Foreman of Streets & Sewers (formerly Assistant Superintendent of ?385,00 streets and sewers) Foremen (3 positions) 325.00 Clerk -typist 230.00 The Clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of ?200.00 per month for the first six months; at the expiration of six months ,p210.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months ,;?220.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months ?230.00 per month; such increase 'to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Hourly Rate gewer Maintenance men (8 positions) J1.61 Equipment Operator (5 positions) 1.68 Street Repairmen (7 positions) 1.49 Trues Driver (10 positions) 1.43 Laborer (7 positions) 1.36 Laborers shall be paid at the rate of `A.28 per hour for the first six months of their employment and :1.36 per hour thereafter, such increases to be made upon recommendation of -the City Manager. 151 Chief Mechanic ;01.76 Auto Repairman (3 positions) 1.65 Mechanic Helper (1 position ) 1.55 Refuse (Sanitary) Division This division shall be under the direction of the above mentioned Director of Public Works and Assistant Director of Public Works. Equipment Operator 1.65 SECTION 2. All ordinaices and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
