HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 16, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE [ZEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY; DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SUCH TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED TO SAID CITY; AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory adjacent to the west corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is described as follows: Beginning at a point in the present city limits line said point being the south east corner of the intersection of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane and South Central Avenue; thence in a northerly direction and with the easterly property line of Fortieth Street or Country Club Lane 1770.$? more or less to the south property line of the Pines Road; thence in a westerly direction and with the south property line of the Pines Road $£3.31 -more or less to a point where the southerly line of the Camilla Hougland property if extended would intersect the south property line of the Pines Road, said Hougland property being acquired by deed recorded in Deed Book 372, page 273, McCracken County Court Clerk's Office; thence N. 6$0-021- 1711 west, crossing the Pines Road and with the southerly line of the Camilla Hougland property and continuing with the southerly line of the Country Club Terrace Sub- division, as recorded in Plat Book "F", Page 40, McCracken County Court Clerk's Office, a distance of 1401.$1 more or less to a stone in the southerly property line of Phillips Avenue; thence north 420-291-24" east and along the southerly property line of Phillips Avenue 1385.76, to a stone; thence north 420-59? east and continuing along the southerly property line of Phillips Avenue 115.04 to the south west corner of the intersection of Phillips Avenue and Belleview Drive; thence at right angles and in a northerly direction 50T to the northerly property line of Phillips Avenue; thence north 420-59T east and with the northerly property line of Phillips Avenue 115.31 more or less to a point 160, from the westerly property line of Lillian Avenue; thence in a northerly direction 160, from and parallel with Lillian Avenue a distance of 528T to the northerly property line of Minnich Avenue; thence in an easterly direction and with the northerly property line of 1.Iinnich Avenue and with said line extended 1028.01 more or less to the north east corner of Lot 6, Block B, Annida Jennings Rose Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book A, Page 11 2, McCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence in an easterly direction approximately 762' to a point where the present city limits line intersects the northerly property line of Minnich Avenue as established by plat of River Oaks Subdivision recorded in Plat Book D. Page 88, McCracken County Court Clerk?s office; thence in a southerly and westerly direction with the present city limits line to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the coundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. 17 SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in at least ten (10) issues of the Sun Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, and the extension of the City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance anne::ing the property described in Section 1 hereof as herein proposed, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance. Notice is hereby given of a provision of Section $1.110 of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty (30) days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why such territory, or any part of it, should not be annexed. SEC^lION 4.
