HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 137, No Ordinance Number137 �v AN ORDINANCE APIENDING SECTION 2 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDI14ADICE CREATING AND DEFINING A SANITARY DIVISION FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH; CREATING POSITIONS AND SALARIES FOR EP91LOYEES IN SAID DIVISION; PROVIDING SAID POSITIONS SHALL NOT BE UNDER CIVIL SERVICE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COP-1ISSIO11rERS ON DECEPIBER 23, 1952, AND MENDED ON JUNE S, 1959 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COPITISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, =TUCKY: SECTIOIT 1. That Section 2 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on December 23, 1952, and amended on June 8, 1959, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: / - "SECTION 2. That in order to perform the duties of refuse n r collection and disposal as defined in the ?Refuse Collection and Disposal Ordinance? there is hereby created ;the following number of positions of employment at the rate of pay specified: Plumber of positions Position Designation Rate of Pay 11 Truck Drivers )1.42- Per Hour 22 Collectors 1.351 1 Tire Repairman 1.43 1 I•iechanic Helper 1.55 'r " The hourly wa.-es herein provided are for a regular work week of 44 hours and wages shall be paid on a straight time basis up to and including said 44 hours/ The salaries of persons appointed to said positions shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of other city employees are paid. Provided however, truck drivers shall be paid at the rate of .?1.331 per hour for the first six months of their employment and }'l.421 per hour thereafter. Laborers shall be paid at the rate of •,1.28 per hour for the first six months and ;v1.35z per hour thereafter. The increases in pay to become effective on the first or the sixteenth day of the month nearest the date on which said person has been employed for a period of sitz months." SECTION 2. All ordinances or 'parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3_ This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after October 1, 1959.
