HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 109, No Ordinance Number109 i AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE ON MADISON STREET FROM HENRY L. BRADLEY, JR. AND JOHN W. BRADLEY FOR THE SUM OF $14,500.00; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SUCH PURCHASE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the,City of Paducah, Kentucky purchase from Henry L. Bradley, Jr. and John W. Bradley for the sum of ,)14,500.00 certain land and improvements thereon located on Madison Street in the City of Paducah, Kentucky described as follows: Tract I: Beginning in the line of the right-of-way of the Illinois Central Railroad Company, being at the northwest corner of the lot of ground heretofore sold and conveyed by Paducah Transfer Co. to John L. Hoeber; thence with said right-of-way Northwardly to a stake in the south line of Madison Street, two hundred and twelve (212) feet and three (3) inches, more or less; thence at right angles Eastwardly with the south line of Madison Street, twenty-eight (28) feet to a stake; thence at right angles southwardly, one hundred and eighty-three (183) feet and three (3) inches to a stake in said Hoeberts linel. thence at right angles westwardly, one hundred and thirty=five (135) feet and three (3) inches, more or less, to the beginning. Tract II. Adjoining the first tract and beginning at a point 235 feet west of the southwest corner of the inter- section of Ninth and Madison Streets; thence out Madison Street west and with the line of said Street, fifteen (15) feet; thence at right angles in a direction towards Jefferson Street, one hundred and eighty-three (183) feet and three (3) inches; thence at right angles in a direction towards Ninth Street,fifteen (15) feet;. thence atiright angles in a direction towards Madison Street, one hundred and eighty-three (183) feet and three (3) inches to the point of beginning. Tract III. Beginning at a point in the south line of Madison Street 175 feet from the southwest corner of the intersection of Madison and Ninth Street; thence toward Tenth Street 60 feet; thence at right angles and southwardly towards Monroe Street 183 feet and 3 inches; thence at right angles and eastwardly toward Ninth Street 50 feet; thence at right angles and northwardly 183 feet and three inches to the beginning. That said land be conveyed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky by a good and sufficient deed free from all encumbrances and defects and to contain a Covenant of General Warranty as to title. SECTION 2. The purchase price of 4"14,500.00 to be paid for said land shall be charged to Account No. 7700 and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to deliver to Henry L. Bradley, Jr. and John W. Bradley a check payable to them in said amount upon delivery of a deed conveying title to said land as set put in Section 1 hereof after such deed has been approved by the Corporation Counsel. 110 SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspection for at least one week in the completed form in vrhich it shall be put upon its final passage and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
