All ORDINANCE CREATING A BOARD OF PARI{ CO1Vu9ISSI011ERS FOR THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND PRESCRIBING THE i+EMBERSHIP, TERi•IS OF
OFFICE'!AND DUTIES OF SUCH BOARD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIl•IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCItY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established a "Board
of Park Commissioners" for the City of Paducah, Kentucky, consisting �J
of seven (7) members to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval
of the Board of Commissioners bf the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for
terms of four (4) years, except the first appointments shall be one
(1) member for a term of one (1) year, two (2) members for a term
of two (2) years, two (2) members for a term of three (3) years,
and two (2) members for a term of four (4) years. Any member of the
board may be removed by a majority vote of the Board of Commissioners. (n.—
SECTION 2. The Board of Park Commissioners shall be an
advisory board only and after their appointment shall convene and �
elect a president and a secretary. The board shall establish rules
not inconsistent with the provisions of IM.S 97.405 to 97.485 and
shall fix the time and place for the holding of its meetings. The
Board of Park Commissioners shall advise the Legislative Body of the
City on appropriate park and recreational programs and projects, and
shall promote the full use of all park facilities in the interest of
the public.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
