HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 950, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE: OF ONE COMBINATION BACKHOU AND LOADER FOR USE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON :•11HICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and directed to advertise for bidd for the sale to the City of one (1) combination backhoe and loader, having the following specifications: Roll back on each bucket; about 180 degree siring on the hoe boom; with a digging depth of about 12 feet; dumping height of loader boom sufficient height to load any dump truck; reverse speed should be as much as forward speed or greater; specified road lights and power steering and heavy duty cooling system. Each bidder is to state the amount he is willing to accept for the purchase price of said equipment; the length of time re- quired for delivery after contract is awarded; and if requested must•demonstrate similar equipment as that upon which he is bidding. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for three consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTIOII 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
